Warsteiner Premium Verum
Appearance - Pours a crystalline yellow, almost like a dehydrated man’s piss. Super clear ambering yellow in color. A thick fat white head with good retention and lots of carbonation racing through the glass.
Smell - It smells tart and slightly buttery, an almost tang of citrus. Hops are light and tangy slightly and very clean.
Taste - Tart and citrusy. Cool and crisp. The malts are tangy and stinging. Fits the pils style well.
Mouthfeel - Very bubbly and crisp on the tongue and well carbonated. Light and coarse on the tongue. It’s got the pilsner’s slightly skunked and scabby tang. After taste is fresh and light on the edges of the tongue, but slightly more thick on the tongue’s back.
Overall – Not a bad pils, nice malty flavoring with a cool crisp tang to the mouth.
As a side note, I love the word “tang”… It just has a nice tang to it’s sound…
